The third Brasil Adiante event, promoted by Estadão in São Paulo, brought together experts to discuss proposals addressing the country’s main challenges, with a focus on public security and organized crime. The program featured two thematic panels dedicated to the challenges of reducing violence and strengthening the State’s capacity to respond to the expansion of criminal organizations. At the event, Joana Monteiro, Executive Director and Co-Founder of Leme, participated in the panel “Why Is Brazil Unable to Reduce Violence?”, highlighting the importance of giving greater political priority to the public security agenda and developing strategies based on the use of information, incentive design, and the specific characteristics of each context.
