Leme is a non-profit organization that works in partnership with Public Security and Justice institutions and Civil Society Organizations to identify and test interventions to reduce violence that are effective, feasible, and scalable. Our goal is to support decision-makers in transforming national public security, based on solutions anchored in data science and scientific evidence. We operate at all stages of the public policy cycle to promote innovation in the area of security in Brazil.
1. Prioritize a relevant public problem, considering political demand and intervention capacity
2. Characterize the problem and map evidence on its causes and effective solutions
3. Design initiatives that combine evidence, feasibility, and potential to generate measurable impact
4. Support implementation with intensive data-driven monitoring
5. Measure impact with the highest possible methodological rigor
6. Adjust the program and institutionalize changes based on the results obtained
7. Disseminate effective practices to scale impact across other contexts
