The 15th Annual Meeting of the AL CAPONE Latin America Crime and Policy Network, co-organized by Leme and held at FGV EBAPE in Rio de Janeiro, brought together researchers and experts from different countries to discuss topics related to organized crime, violence, policing, and public security policies. The conference featured research presentations, thematic sessions, panels, and discussions on illicit markets, migration, criminal justice, school violence, and human capital in conflict-affected contexts, as well as the participation of representatives from institutions such as the University of Chicago, University of California, Berkeley, Universidad de los Andes, World Bank, Tecnológico de Monterrey, Universidad del Pacífico, FGV, Insper, and CAF. At the event, the Leme team participated as speakers, discussants, and research presenters, with Joana Monteiro, Julia Guerra, Vinicius Peçanha, Giovanna Ubida, Laura Schiavon, and Horacio Larreguy contributing to discussions on organized crime, public policies, and security in Latin America.
