On July 20, Yasmin Santos, Leme Communications Advisor, participated in the launch event of RioAgora.org’s strategic agenda, held at the Museum of Tomorrow in Rio de Janeiro. The event brought together civil society representatives, experts, public officials, and guests to present a set of proposals for the development of the State of Rio de Janeiro, based on evidence and technical contributions.

RioAgora.org is a nonpartisan initiative that promotes debate on public policies for the state. Over the past few months, the organization brought together experts from different fields, held thematic discussions, received contributions from civil society through a digital ombudsman channel, and consolidated an agenda of proposals to inform public debate during the electoral period.

During the event, the overall structure of the strategic agenda was presented, organized into different public policy areas and accompanied by proposals aimed at strengthening the State’s planning, coordination, and management capacity. Topics discussed included governance, public security, health, education, economic development, the environment, and innovation, with a focus on implementing evidence-based policies.

In the area of public security, the agenda proposes prioritizing state action in territories most affected by violence, combining intelligence, prevention, and targeted enforcement measures. The document also advocates strengthening mechanisms for oversight of police activities, using data to guide decision-making, and expanding institutional capacity for coordination and results monitoring.

The program also featured the participation of former Governor of Espírito Santo Paulo Hartung, who was invited to share experiences related to public management and the implementation of results-oriented policies. The event also brought together public officials and representatives from different sectors involved in developing the strategic agenda for the State of Rio de Janeiro.
