Between July 27 and 31, Ísis Lira, Leme Project Leader, participated in EGAP Learning Days 2026, a workshop organized by Evidence in Governance and Politics (EGAP) and held at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in Santiago. The program brings together researchers from different Latin American countries to develop and strengthen experimental research designs applied to public policy.

Throughout the week, participants attended lectures, seminars, and practical activities focused on topics such as experimental design, randomization, and impact evaluation. Alongside these activities, each researcher developed a research proposal and received continuous feedback from instructors to strengthen the methodological design of their projects.

During the workshop, Ísis presented two initiatives developed by Leme in partnership with the Paraná Secretariat of Public Security and the Military Police of Paraná: the experimental implementation of an algorithm to identify the risk of revictimization in domestic violence cases and the experimental design of a program involving visits to offenders.

Participation in the workshop allowed Ísis to present projects developed by Leme and receive contributions from researchers with extensive experience in field experiments and policy evaluation, contributing to the refinement and validation of the methodological designs of the studies.

The workshop also included the participation of Ana Paula Pellegrino, an Associate Researcher at Leme, who was part of the team of instructors responsible for supporting participants throughout the activities. The program was led by researchers from the EGAP network and combined methodological training, peer discussion, and presentations of the projects developed during the week, strengthening collaboration among Latin American researchers dedicated to generating evidence for public policies.
